"Between Borders and Beyond" Photo Contest Guidelines

By entering the competition, each author agrees to these terms and conditions.
Theme
This contest shows the artist's view of immigration
Eligibility
The competition is open to all photographers, regardless of nationality or country of residence, who are at least 16 years old
Entries
All photographs must be original and taken by the entrant. Entries must be submitted in digital format, with a resolution of at least 300 DPI and a file size of no more than 10 MB.
By submitting a photograph, the artist acknowledges that they are submitting a final version of their work, and no editing or changes can be made once the entry has been submitted.
Each entrant may submit up to three photographs.
File Format
All photographs must be submitted in a standard digital format such as JPEG or PNG.
Image Size
Photographs should be submitted in high resolution with a minimum of 300 DPI. The recommended image size is at least 2000 pixels on the longer side.
Editing
Minor editing such as cropping, colour adjustments, and sharpening is allowed. However, the photograph must remain a faithful representation of the original scene. Excessive editing or manipulation, such as adding or removing elements from the photograph, is not allowed and may result in disqualification. In addition, if the photograph has been previously published, the entrant should disclose the original source and publication date.
Watermarks
Watermarks or signatures should not be included in the submitted photograph. The organisers will add a discreet watermark to the winning entries for publication on the website.
Submission Method
Photographs must be submitted through the contest website using the designated submission form. The organisers will not accept entries submitted via email or any other means.
It is forbidden for the organisers of the contest to participate in the competition.
The organisers may only submit a total of three photographs per person, which will be published online and open to viewers worldwide without any compensation, reward, or judge-related privileges. The sole purpose is to inspire contestants and engage the public.
Exclusion
Employees or immediate family members of the contest organisers are not eligible to enter the competition.
Caption
Each photograph must be accompanied by a caption that provides context and information about the image. Captions should be no more than 100 words.
Since the submitted photographs will be voted anonymously, the artists should not include their names or any other personal information in the caption.
If the contestant's caption incorporates additional information, unrelated to the image they submitted, they will be disqualified.
Copyright
Upon entering the contest, photographers retain all copyrights to their work.
By submitting their work, photographers certify that they own the copyrights of the submitted material. The competition organisers will not be responsible for any legal issues that may arise due to copyright infringement or plagiarism of any kind.
Biblioteka will hold exclusive rights to the submitted work for a year once the competition is over.
By submitting an entry, the author grants the competition organisers the right to publish their work on the competition website and in any subsequent anthologies or publications related to the competition.
Judging Criteria
The entries will be judged by the public on the basis of originality, creativity, technical excellence, composition, and overall impact.
Deadline
All entries must be received by the end of August, 31st 2023
Disqualification
The competition organisers reserve the right to disqualify any entry that does not meet the eligibility criteria or that violates any of the competition rules.
Contact Details and GDPR
Entrants must provide a valid email address which will be used only for contact purposes.
The organisers will not be responsible for any technical errors or failures that prevent an entry from being submitted or received or any lost late, or misdirected entries.
Entry Fee
The entry fee is 7 euros, paid upon registration.
The entry fee for this competition will be used to cover the costs of organising and administering the competition, as well as to provide prizes for the winners.
The entry fee for this contest is final and cannot be refunded,
Competition Prizes
Competition prizes include:
- One cash prize of 150 EUR will be awarded to the winner of the competition.
- Depending on the number of submissions received, a number of photographs may be selected by the judges for publication in an anthology. This anthology will be made available to the public.
- Depending on the number of submissions received, a number of photographs may be selected by the judges for publication in an anthology, a combination of winning photographs and winning short stories from the “Between Borders and Beyond” Writing Competition. This anthology will be made available to the public.
- In addition, the judges will select a number of photographs to be displayed in one or more exhibitions.
Please note that all prizes are subject to the terms and conditions of the competition, and the judges' decisions are final. Good luck!
The winner receives payment from Biblioteka via a PayPal transfer on the day the results are announced.
Important!
Before, during, or after the contest, Biblioteka will not involve the entrants in any sales efforts, such as the selling of the contest anthology or other hidden costs and fees.
Thus, any attempts to solicit purchases from anybody pretending to be our representatives should be ignored by the contestants.
